Doing crunches... how long till i get abs?
Question:
Answers:
i think u need to do a lot more than just focus on abs.
and don't just do crunches to help your abs. do a combination. and do it right.
**when you sit up or lift your legs, focus on pulling your belly button to your spine.**
*full sit ups
*crunches
*lay flat on your back. bend up your legs. lay the them to the side so that your body is kind of twisted. do half-sit ups or crunches. this works your obliques. then switch to the other side.
*flutter kicks - lay flat on back. lift legs 6 inches off the ground. flutter them up and down without touching the ground.
*90 to 30's - lay flat on back. lift your legs to 90 degrees. slowly lower them to 45 degrees from the ground. pick them up to 90 again. slowly lower them to 30 degrees from the ground. back up to 90 again - repeat.
*hollows. lay flat on your back. place your arms at your side. lift your legs and lift the trunk of your body so that you are balancing on your butt. you are hollowed like a tree trunk or a canoe. when you are good at this, you may try putting your arms straight above your head.
*push ups. yes, believe it or not... when done correctly, push ups utilize the abs. lean forward with your toes on the ground and your palms flat on the ground. keep your body straight - no sagging your hips - no raising your butt. lower your body using your arms. when done correctly, your biceps should come parallel to the ground. break that parallel plain, but don't touch the ground and push back up.
**remember - when doing abs, focus on pulling your belly button to your spine.**
*also, look into running and cardio. the best way to get into shape is to have a well-rounded exercise routine.
*the best time to exercise is when you first wake up in the morning before you eat. this is because you haven't put any more calories into your body in usually 8-15 hours. this forces your body to burn the extra calories from the day before that it has not used yet.
*a fat-burn run may be what you are looking for. get a friend and jog at a slow enough pace where you are capable of holding a conversation. if you get out of breath from talking, then you are running too fast. this pace is just high enough to get your heart rate up... but slow enough that you can keep your endurance and it forces you to burn fat. keep this up for 30 minutes.
**also... know that you will lose some weight. but there is a point where you will stop losing weight and you might gain weight. muscle weighs more than fat. the most important thing is that you notice your body is getting toned and will thin out slightly. don't focus so much on weight as you should be in toning your muscles.**
GOOD LUCK! hope i helped!

You won't really lose weight by doing crunches (you'll likely hurt yourself if you try to do that many crunches every day). If you want to see a six pack, you'll need to lower your % body fat, by eating lean and doing cardio to burn calories.
It depends if you have fat or muscle on that body of yours. If there's body fat, yes, for sure you can lose weight.
cardio and diet are also very important, try other ab workouts as well. there is a tape thats called hip hop abs-its only $60.00 that would work.

every half hour ALL day...so you plan on going at it for 24 hours eh...
An important part in muscle development and strengthening is rest. If you work out too much, you can damage your muscles (which is essentially what you're doing when you work out - hence why you feel sore). Do not work out when you feel really sore. Resting repairs the muscles, making them stronger each time.
a big no!
