You can't go wrong with fruits and vegetables. Try to eat six small meals throughout the day consisting mostly of fruits and/or vegetables. Also, drinking lots of water is one of the best things you can do. Some specific foods I enjoy are pears, apples, bananas, carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. Of course you need to get some protein in your diet as well. For that I typically eat eggs (usually egg substitutes) or tuna. I also benefit from protein shakes using both soy and whey protein.
Fill the majority of your diet with fruits and vegetables and lean meats. You can eat pasta and grains like rice, you don't have to eliminate any food group, just learn to eat smaller portions and fill up on your proteins and natural carbs, like veggies. Don't eat a whole plate of pasta then start in on your spinach for example. If you fill up on healthy veggies and lean chicken and fish or lean cuts of beef, you will load up on vitamins and won't be as tempted to snack because your body will be satisfied.
Also, remember that sometimes when we feel hungry, it's actually us misinterpreting our bodies telling us that we are thirsty. If you find that you want to snack an hour after lunch, grab a tall glass of ice water instead of a cookie. Make sure you drink your water, and if you get bored with it, add a few slices of lemon or lime, even a packet of Crystal Light or something similar. Just be sure you aren't dehydrated when you think you are hungry.
