How do i reduce high cholesterol besides exercise?

Try oatmeal for breakfast...

Do NOT eat fast food, period!!

Drink plenty of water with meals - it will fill you up faster...

Avoid sugar (sweet snacks), hydrogenated oil (check labels on processed foods) and large portions (small portions will help shrink your stomach, which in turn will help with the hunger pangs)...

Try not to eat four hours before going to sleep...

Avoid chip-type snacks - substitute them with fruit (bananas, blueberries, strawberries, cucumbers...)

Once you've eaten, occupy yourself in such a way as to not allowing yourself to think about food (countless activities, including exercise, reading, games with friends...).When you start thinking about food, and you realize you've eaten recently, drink some more water to calm your stomach down...
As with anything dealing with health, the other thing to do beside exercise is to change your diet.

Sometimes high cholesterol is inherited and even diet and exercise does not work. You need to stay on a regimented routine of regular exercise and a low fat diet for a month or so and check your cholesterol again and if it is not significantly better then you probably need to see your doctor to see if you need to have medication to help control the levels in addition to diet and exercise. My husband has inherited this and he is in great shape and still cannot control the numbers. Good Luck!!
