Build muscle in thighs?


Question:
i would say i have a pretty nice body--my stomach isn't too flabby and i have nice, hard calves--however, my thighs are big, flabby, and have no muscle whatsoever. how can i build some thight muscle and burn some thigh fat before christmas?

Answers:
All of these are great.

-Swimming
-Ride a bike
-Squats w/ weights.
-Walk

Make sure you are eating healthy too. Not alot of junk food, and no sodas. It's crunch time. You will look, and feel great.

Also make sure you do some kind of cardio exercise for atleast 45 minutes to an hour everyday.

have you tried jogging?
Spot treatment doesn't really work. So in order for you to get nicer thighs, you have to do cardio and squats or other thigh workouts.

You should do cardio 4 or 5 times a week and about 5-7 miles each time. Cardio can be done in both the gym or at home/outdoors and with all different bugets in mind.

You can:
go running
jogging
jump-rope
jumping-jacks
dancing
roller blading
skiing
hiking
walking

Or you can use:
treadmill
step climber
elliptical

In addition to that, cut down on carbs if it is more than 65% of your diet. Take in more protein, fruits, and vegetables. You can also see great benefits by drinking water instead of soft drinks, getting more hours of sleep, not eating after 7pm and limiting the calories you eat (but not starving!).

sit on an invisible chair against the wall and hold this pose, add a medicine ball between your thighs

i have found that running and stairclimber have built up my thighs insanely well. on stairclimber skip every other step.

also try the weight machines at the gym which highlight the thigh muscles
Weight training to gain muscle in your thighs. Squats, lunges, things like that.

To lose fat, you have to do cardio workouts. There is no such thing as spot removal for fat (nor does fat turn into muscle). Running, swimming, biking... anything to get your heart rate up to 50-75% of its max rate. Doing these activities will burn calories, and eventually fat. You can't choose where it comes from... but if you want to create a lean appearance, weight training will build muscle, and cardio removes fat. Do both.

(By the way, muscles burns something like 3 times the amount of calories that its fat equivalent will burn. So if you bulid up muscle, you will burn more calories while at rest. Something to think about.)

Oh, and make sure you are getting plenty of protein!
machine leg extensions would tone the muscles foreword above the knee, leg curls would get the back of the legs ,
standing sideways kicks/extensions on a cross-over would work the sides of the thighs and lunges would give a ghetto booty.
