Anorexia, did I beat it?
Question:

Let's just say you are not entirely unstable at the moment, but I don't know I'd say you were beating it. You haven't adjusted your view towards food or yourself yet, you are still pretty centered on the scale and food. It's not enough just to eat, if you are just going to exercise over-enthusiastically to prevent weight gain. Your weight is about borderline, what you really need to know is your BMI, the fat ratio which will give a better picture of what the weight is representing. I think you would benefit from counseling to be honest, before it really gets away from you. Anorexics are never really cured, in the sense you can cure a disease- they are either stable or not. You will have that battle and face the temptations for a large part of your life, if not your entire life. It's not something you can't control, it's just something you need to have control of all the time. It is your stress control method, and will always be your first inclination in times of stress. But with help, you can learn better ways and healthier attitudes to help you get past that first inclination and move on to the better second choice. Do yourself a favor, tell your parents and get the help you need to really get in control.
i think you're on the way to recovery. i currently have anorexia and you sound alot better than i do. keep up the good work...
If you are 5ft 4 and want to weigh 105lbs, that is way too skinny. anorexia has nothing to do with wanting to be a certain weight, but it has to do with feeling out of control in life so you control the only thing you know how to-your weight.
Yes.inaway but u have to then not care too much about your weight
Don't misfigure Anorexia Nervosa as a virus where once you 'feel' better, you'll never get it again(like a virus).
It is a psychologicalo problem and the only way to treat it is to control your mind.
Congratulations on gaining weight!
Keep at it, while still exercising and doing normal 'behaviours'.
Your parents should definetly know about this as if they themselves somehoe find out, they'd be seriously angry.
My son has Anorexia but he got over it by always thinking that food was good for him. I suggest you do that too!!.
You know, food is much more important than anything.
Do you know not eating properly is more deadly to your body than having A.I.D.S. for 1 year?!
I though not :)

I'm sorry but you haven't beat Anorexia. Honestly, you never will beat it. Sure, 112 is almost a heathly weight for your height but anorexia doesn't go away, you live with it forever. You really do have to tell your parents if they havent noticed by now. I was and slightly still am anorexic. It was my parents that found out first and it made it worst that they found out through my diary. You really need to tell them but dont just say 'I have anorexia' tell them how you've had it for while and your getting better and starting to eat again. I was fully recovered about a month ago when I was living at my moms house and then a week ago I came here to my dads and I instantly feel back into it, not completely but I would skip any meal I could. Its terrible to be living with and you need to tell your parents and get comfort and help from them. It will never go away completely but you can make it smaller and smaller until you hardly notice it. Good luck, I hope everything works out.
Heya,
Anorexia is a very hard illness to overcome, If you are eating more, then you are definitely on the road to recovery. Of course you're going to want to be thinner that's all about the illness, its not going to go away that east unfortunately. But you need to gradually make progress, maybe see a councilor and talk about your problems. Your weight is okay, you could gain weight and still be slim. But your not dangerously thin and you need to keep it that way. 105 pounds is too low and you could risk lots of health problems. I'm recovering from anorexia too and I can understand how you feel. I am a healthy weight but I desperately want to loose weight but I am beginning to understand that my health is more important.
Good luck, I'm thinking of you =)
