Can any of you recommend LapBand surgery for weight loss? pros & cons?
What can i do to perceive more energised to workout?
Answer:
I had gastric bypass in 2003. Since then I have had two friends who got lap band after seeing my results. The one result I notice time and time again is people learn how to cheat the band. Gastric bypass doesn't allow you to cheat. Mental reconditioning is the key here. If you learn to cheat the band it will never be effective.
I lost over 100 pounds and have maintained my weight around 120-130 lbs. My two girlfriends who had lap band lost about 50 lbs and remain over weight and unhealthy.
I suggest attending group meetings in your area to talk with post op patients. I found a wealth of information on obesityhelp.com. That website answered so many of my embarrassing questions. Good luck!
How quick did you lose substance?
Pros: weight loss and reversible. Cons: excessive skin and death. Pro: Less invasive than Roux-en-y surgery.
I wouldn't recommend lap band. My friend had the surgery 3 years ago. For the first 2 years she was constantly sick. She had to visit the dr. several times b/c of infection and just and overall nauseated feeling. She has lost about 50 pounds(which she doesn't think was worth all she endured)
what is the best diet pill out there? any experiences?
The bad part is that it doesn't teach you to eat differently. You'll still crave the same foods that are keeping you overweight now.
The new stomach opening will be small, but ice cream, soda, Doritos, mashed potatoes, Captain Crunch cereal, chocolate milk, wine, beer, etc. will all still go right down.
Maybe consider a diet that gives you fast results AND stops your appetite in 3-5 days! No lie!

And it's a lot cheaper than lap band surgery.
How many calories/fat grams does a fried cream cheese wonton have?
Weight loss surgery-like lap band surgery have become very common and very safe now. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Obesity surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Fly2india4health Consultants. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. I have also read that they arrange financing for international patients, as all surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of Healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
My cousin got her Obesity surgery done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for Fly2india4health Consultants. She paid just 20% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her. Hope this helps

There are certain situations where Lap Band surgery becomes inevitable. Many have tried it and it is a safe surgery.
Having said that, have you considered the option of getting the surgery done overseas? Countries like India/Singapore/Thailand and even Mexico offer this treatment for 60-80% less than the prevailing rates in the US. Even after you've paid for your travel and any other expenses you end up saving lots.
However, you need to be careful about the quality of hospitals there. You must make sure that they are JCI/JCAHO/ISO accredited which means that the hospital provides services that meet or exceed US standards and the facilities are world-class.
One such medical tourism facilitator that works only with quality hospitals abroad is Healthbase (http://www.healthbase.com). You can research about the various medical procedures, communicate with the surgeons overseas, plan and book your travel all at their website. You can even apply for a medical finance loan through their website.
