Are these healthy snacks?
Question:
big handfull salted peanuts
5-10 Tostitos
coffee and 1 cook
microwave popcorn (half a bag)
bottle of starbucks frapuccino (only like 200 kcal)
Answers:
I don't think any are very good. Possibly the peanuts, as they contain protein.
crackers& nuts are really good to eat.
also try fruits and veggies =]
All of those are horrible ideas for snacks. Seriously.
I recommend you try those 100 calorie packs of food.
There's oreos, ritz crackers, and chips ahoy. Those things are pretty healthy and delicious. They taste just like the real food.
If you're thirsty, try some flavored water. I get black cherry flavored water from Sam's Club and they're 0 calories.
nuts are great protein for you! in moderation of course!
i would say purchase some 100 cal packs! there are tons of great chips, cookies and crackers that are already packaged into a healthy amount of calories perfect for snacking!
maybe make your own coffee, and put it in a personal mug in the fridge, that way you can put skim milk, and your own sweetners that could add up to less calories!
and for the popcorn, buy the mini bags there are some that are low/no fat! they taste great and are proportoned for a perfect snack!
i would also suggest fruit, veggies, water!!
don't eat all that stuff every day! try an apple it will cure your sweet tooth and take your mind off food!
These aren't great snacks but they aren't horrible either. So long as you are using portion control, it's okay. However, if you are trying to lose weight, these things aren't going to fill you up or fuel your metabolism . If you want some snacks that will make you feel more energized try some of these:
unsalted toasted almonds
a piece of whole grain toast with 2 tbsp peanut putter and strawberries
lowfat yogurt with blueberries and granola
an Odwalla soy chocolate drink
Try preparing some of these things in the morning before you go to work and then taking them to the office with you. That way, you won't be starved and then tempted to give into unhealthy snacks later in the day.
No one is perfect, and it's very hard to keep to a strict diet 24/7. However, if you try incorporating foods that taste good and are good for you, healthy eating can be much easier.
