breathe in through your nose.. hold it... and out through your mouth... hold it...
running will solve that problem for you. You are probably out of breath because your cardio is not in shape, give it time.
If you don't have asthma, then just keep on running, when you run, it's good for your lungs, even if it feels like crap. No pain no gain...
it takes time to build up breath control. maybe try light cardio and yoga to slowly build up your breath capacity, talk to your dr. for more ideas on what might work best for you.
I have an issue with breathing while I run - I simply don't breathe. They say the best thing to do it breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, but I find that difficult, so what I do is I have music playing and the only way I can breathe while running is singing - I know lame, but it works for me =].
