crunch machines help burn a lot of fat in your stomach and love handles if you use it in all it's variations.
for such a simple machine, there are lots of ways to burn fat. as far as cardio, a treadmill or it's similar brother machines that work legs and arms in the same stair climbing motions.
it depends on your body type, but in general cardio workouts burn the most fat so try the treadmill.
To burn fat, you need to increase your heat rate and keep it up. This is best accomplished by cardio equipment. You will burn more fat standing up as opposed to seated as in a stationary bike. The treadmill and elliptical are both excellent choices. Given the same speed, the treadmill will burn more fat, because you are lifting your leg up with each step, as opposed to simply gliding on the elliptical. But, you can also burn the same amount of calories on either machine by adjusting your intensity. The stairclimber is another intense cardio machine which also strengthens your legs. I'd suggest a combination of 2-3 machines which you enjoy doing. For each machine, vary your workouts. Have long moderate workouts lasting up to an hour on some days, while other days, kick up the intensity for about 30 minutes. You should perform some type of cardio 5-6 days per week for 30-60 minutes per session. By mixing up your workouts, you are continually challenging your body and thus burning more calories than if you did the same workout everyday. You will also increase the rate of weight loss if you do some type of strength training 2-3 days per week. Be sure to give yourself a day of rest between sessions.
