Sore calf muscles?
Question:
Answers:
stretch your calves and take it easy while working out for a day or two. They will feel better eventually
Did you do your stretching before and after the run?
Also, if I suspect that I'm going to be sore, I'll take Vitamin C supplements like Ester C. This will help the muscles repair their self quicker.
Take a pain reliever and massage the calf. It will hurt, but massage it for a while. Also a nice hot bath or shower will help to loosen up your calf muscle. dont work out just yet, until you feel better, bc you can make it a lot tighter and you will be in a lot more pain. Hope you feel better soon. Take care :)
Do some light stretching - it should help. Also, if you just start walking slowly, the pain should subside as you are using the muscle. What causes the pain is the build-up of lactic-acid. Lactic acid crystallizes in the muscles causing the pain. If you work the muscle, you work out the lactic acid. Also, drink plenty of water - it helps.
Try massaging some Icy Hot or Deep Heat into the calves, stretch properly and then exercise again. The only way I have found to get rid of soreness and stiffness is to continue to exercise until your muscles get used to the new routine. You'll see, after you've been exercising for a few minutes, the more your muscles warm up, it will relieve the stiffness and over time you won't have that stiffness and soreness at all. Also, after you exercise today and for several days from now on, take a BATH not a shower, so that you can soak your muscles. Then massasge some more Icy Hot into the muscles.
sounds like you need to stretch more! Try stretching through the pain sometimes that helps me..or just do some walking on the treamill instead of walking..you can still workout but I would just take it easier than usual.
I think we're all overlooking the true problem here... your SHOPPING! Six hours! Holy christ, you're immortal! Evil, shopping-crazed women!
Stretch before and after exercises and take extra potassium like bananas or prunes are hugh in it. it will help muscles aches.oh yeah drink plenty of water.
stretch all day. you should have stretched before and after running.
I do recommend stretching after not before your workout. Stretching is not good for your muscles if they're not properly warmed up, so you can do a quick jog and then stretch before your running if you want to do it before. Otherwise stretch afterwards to relieve muscle tension.
