Can the grapefruit juice really help?

In September, a great vacation it`s waiting for me in Bahamas, and I want everything to be perfect! That`s why I should lose some pounds. I don`t have time to go to the gym, so I thought I could start a diet. Friends told me to drink grapefruit juice in the morning if I wanna follow a healthy diet. I need to lose 22-25lb. Can the grapefruit juice really help? Any advice? Thanks.

So you don't have time to go to the gym, then exercise at home with DVDs or videos, or take a walk or jog from you rhouse.

Do some research online. Grapefruit/juice is said to assit with weight loss. However you also need to be eating right and watching your calories, or it's not going to make much difference.and it's typically recommended you drink/eat grapefruit before each meal (for weight loss assistance).

You are not going to lose 20+ lbs by Sept from just grapefruit though, sorry. To get significant weight loss you will have to do some exercise in addition to healthy eating. A loss of 1 - 4 lbs a week is a good goal to shoot for, with high chance of being able to keep it off long term.

If you do not have the time to execise, you should continue with the grapefruit the fruit, it is better for you than the juice.

If you plan on losing that much weight in a month by dieting alone, you won't be following a healthy diet.

On a healthy diet you'll lose a pound a week.

An unhealthy diet that really works better than the rest is the Atkins diet. Starving yourself of carbs (which is hard to do) will shed pounds off like crazy. You'll be eating loads of meat and cheese which have no carbs. You can't eat bread, no fruit and very limited on your veggies. Plus it makes you pee like a racehorse.

So, I don't really recommend the Atkins program. There are 2 healthier programs out there that also work. First is the South Beach Diet, which works on the same principals as Atkins by limiting your carbs, but not so drastically.

Second is the Weight Watchers points program. It works very well and allows you to eat foods you enjoy. You calculate a point value for everything you eat based on fat/calorie content and you are allowed a certain number of points per day. Eat less than your number and you will lose weight.

Grapefruit juice will NOT make you lose weight.

Enjoy your trip though and remember, nobody really cares if you are 25lbs overweight but you, so have fun and don't let it affect your holiday.
