How fast can you lose your muscles?

Question:
I exercise a lot, but I will be going on a work/research trip and I won't have access to a gym and won't have time anyway and I cannot work out outside (asthma),and the air quality is too bad where I am going.
How fast can people lose muscles once they stop exercising?

Answers:
One way your muscles atrophy is through disuse (e.g a bed ridden coma patient), n since you use your skeletal muscles in everyday activities, you should be fine. The only other thing that could happen is if you gained too much body fat over some time that the fat makes it harder to see the muscles. I also exercise a lot but I havent had access to a gym in 3 months. Yet, my body is still pretty much the way it was. When indoors, you can just do pushups, pull ups, and sit ups. At least those work your main muscles and is better than nothing. You can also try some variations like doing push ups with your legs on a raised surface like a chair. Doing these regularly wont make u miss ur gym soo much
Technically, muscles can begin to atrophy - especially with bedrest, within a couple of days. Don't worry though. You will barely be affected and your body will "remember" once you get home and begin exercising again.
