Is it true that hot peppers can increase your metabolism? And if so why?

Question:

Answers:
There have been studies done that show eating peppers can increase your metabolism. However, it seems that the increase is very slight and mostly a byproduct of an elevated heart rate. The key to this "increase" is the capsaicin, it's what puts the "heat" in the pepper.
Sure. They get your blood pumping and heart beating. Very good for you. Eat them straight outta the jar daily, for breakfast.
