Question:
Every day I do 40-45 pushups in the morning and at night, as well as 40 crunches with each set of pushups. The problem is every morning I wake up with a huge knot in my back. Usually the pain is bearable and I continue on with my day as normal but it has been getting more severe. Why is this happening and what can I do to stop it? I can't stop working out because I want to join the military, and I can't see a doctor until September.
Answers:
Could be bad form but you would feel it when you work out. I think it might have more to do with your matress or sleeping possition because you wake up sore.
Try sleeping with a bone pillow (it's a pilow in the shape of a bone).
If I were you, I'd change the workout routine. Get a message every now and then, and do pullups for a while instead of pushups. Pullups will get you ripped, and they may be a bit easier on your back. Good luck to you.
It's probably a build-up of lactic acid. Have someone rub it out.
