If muscle weighs more than fat how much should I weigh?

Question:
I am a very fit person - I cycle 60 miles plus a week run around 10-15, do free weights, eat well and carefully, I am a UK size 8-10 and I weigh just under 9stone...(14 lbs to a Stone for any USA readers) I am only 5.2 and everyone says what a nice neat figure I have but I have friends who are very similar in size and shape to me but weigh less or are bigger than me and weigh less - is this down to me having more muscle?

Answers:
This is a complicated case. There is no clear cut answer that I can give you without saying that I do not know. It is simply too difficult to estimate how much someone should weigh without having very accurate tools for measurement. Some people do not look muscular but actually are and others who look muscular can be hiding a lot of fat.

The best thing you can do is go to a nutritionist and ask them to measure your body fat percentage and lean muscle mass percentage and you can take it from there. :-) Good luck.
Yes, it's probably muscle. If you look good, don't worry about it!
worry less about your weight and more about how you feel. if you feel and look great, you are eating well and your clothes fit. why worry about it!
If you look good and look and eat right your fine!
Yes yes muscle weighs more than fat, but only by a couple ounces, which is not alot at all. So the next time I hear another fat chick talking about how she weighs alot because muscle weighs more than fat, I am gonna scream! Im not saying you are fat at all, Im just talking generally.
It very well could be the muscle. You're in good shape so you have nothing to worry about. If you really want to know how much of your weight is muscle vs. fat, you need to find out what your body fat percentage is. I'm guessing you go to a health club/gym to work out, so find out if they have a scale that measures body fat. You'll be able to work out from there how many pounds of muscle vs. fat you have.
Absolutely. You seem to be in excellent shape. Why not go an take a fat test to prove it? If you're eating well, drink loads of water and excerise that much how could you possibly go wrong with your weight?
Most girls aren't as fit as you. I would love to have the toning you do. Don't compare yourself to others, hardly anyone excerises so much. Don't worry, I think you're fine. More than fine in fact.
It most likely has to do with your muscle. Also, you may have a different body type than your friends. Some people have the type of body that easily gains muscle which can result in heavier weight. That might be your case. Or, you may just be a little bit more toned than your friends. An average weight for your height is around 110 (or a little under 8 stone i guess). But remember, everyones body type is different. I think from what you describe, you are fine! If you're still concerned, see a dietician or nutritionist.
1 lb. of muscle weighs the same and 1 lb. of fat, the muscle is just denser, which means if you weight 116 lbs. of all fat you will look bigger than if you weigh 116 lbs. of muscle. talk to your dr. about what the proper weight is for your height and body type. i only used the 116 lbs. as an illustration for my point. hope this helps.
Your body mass index is 22 which is in the healthy weight range so you have nothing to worry about.

Everyone has different shapes and sizes and genetics play a big part so its important not to compare yourself.

You are a healthy weight, a below average clothes size and you obviously lead a full and active life. Good for you!

Dont worry and keep up the good work xx
You have a nice figure and you eat well and carefully I wouldn't worry. I think that you do have more muscle because of all the exercise you do but as long as you are happy with how you look don't let it worry you
