If you are going to lift, do light weights and lots of reps. It develops lean muscle and will thin out your arms in a good way (they will still look strong).
Calisthenics work very well too. I like spider-man pushups (as you go down, lift a knee to your shoulder keeping your leg paralell to the floor). Keep your hands close together to concentrate on the tri-cep.
Lift weights.
