High Protein Low Carb Diet?
Question:
Answers:
You should never go on a low-carb diet because of the health complications no or few carbs causes. Carbs are your main source of energy and you need them very much for a healthy lifestyle. You ever hear of Dr. Atkins, creator of the Atkins- low carb diet? Died from his own low carb diet. He had health problems because of the low carbs. Supposedly, he fell and died of a head injury. . . .yeah right.
Sure people lose weight on the low carb bull crap, but they will have health problems, at least a lot of them will. And you will put the weight back on if you decide to come off of it.
btw, fruit has carbs, so if you went on this diet you wouldn't be allowed to eat fruit. Fruit is very important for overall health!
I recomment you research the Atkins diet on the net. I lost a lot of weight on a low-carb/high protein diet like the Atkins. You can also look up the Holford diet, which I havent yet tried. Anyway, on the Atkins you may eat proteins as much as you like for instance meat, fish, eggs, most veggies etc but no fruit since it contains sugar- which is a carbohydrate.. You can either avoid all carbs- which is all starchy and sugary foods- or you can try and eat only "good carbs" which are low-gi foods such as brown basmati rice. Good luck!
First of all...who told you you're "supposed to" eat like this? If you want some info about low carb, high protein diets try this link...but I don't recommend this way of eating, and neither do any of the doctors or nutritionists I've worked with while losing 40 pounds!

This is a diet fad that is quickly fading, because it's so unhealthy. Most americans get more than enough protein already- high levels of proteing on a long term basis put stress on your kidneys. If you're not careful, you can end up with gout, high cholesterol and a host of other problems.
