Help needed to lose 18 lbs.?
Question:

To a very high degree, you should weigh as much as you feel happy with weighing.
As far as a "healthy weight", that's what most of the other posts are about (calculating your BMI, diet plans, etc). but most people will say what the "average" is according to different opinions.
As long as you are at a weight where you are healthy, the most important part is that you are HAPPY with your weight... not that you "should be X pounds", but that no matter what you weigh, you are happy with that instead of striving to be a size 2 or something like that
That being said, if you want to lose weight, exercise is a really good (and safe) way to lose weight. In addition to that, I would recommend meeting with a nutritionist or dietitian to see if there is something else that may benefit you more
As far as the wrestling goes, try talking to your coach (or trainer, if you have one). See if you all can set up some sort of diet and/or specialized exercise regiment to help lower your weight.
Ok, as a wrestler my eniter life I can relate, though I never needed to drop 18 #'s quick, 10 though. First this is not the healthiest of ways but it will work fast. Hopefully you already have a sauna suit. if not, buy one and wear it all the time, with a shirt underneat to absorb the sweat. Wear it to bed and everything. (on a side not, sleep in as cold of a room as possible, the colder the room, the more calories you burn trying to stay warm.) Continue to do your normal excersise, but you need to run alot more, that or skipping rope, alot of cardio work (with sauna suit) will shed pounds. while running and worlking out, drink as little as possible, just rinse and spit. Every drink you take is just putting the water weight back on. Also watch your diet, eat alot of chicken (baked, and fish, sallads with no ranch or fatty dressings). You want to be careful though, muscle weighs more than fat so as you build muscle, you put on weight. Remember a wrestler isnt supposed to be big, just stong as hell for his size. so switch you work outs to non bulk building workouts (low weights/high reps). If this doesnt work guess its time to eating ice cubes, and spitting in a cup all day, lol. All of these are not the healthist ways to do things, some are not that bad. I just know that you are going to get responses stating to do it healthy and take the time, ect. I wrestled, and when I needed to lose pounds now for a tourney, I needed tolose them now. I didnt have time to do it right. My ending advice though is focus on your techniques and agility, then improve yourself overall, and it wont matter what weight your at, you can take on anyone.
