Effective diet.?

Question:
Ok i want to start a good diet. im 14, ok it may not be a good idea to diet that young..but w/e im 5'4 and 140 lbs. I have an exercise routine, Im just not sure of an effective diet. something that works quickly wouldnt be a bad thing either.

Answers:
Diet is good, but at the age of 14 you need to get more exercise in your life. Start running or walking. Maybe dance or aerobics. If you get into an exercise program, you will do better in the long term.
Eat healthy and exercise.

I dont like dieting because it restricts you from eating what you want and doesnt let you live. Instead of eating straight fruits and veggies and ONLY healthy stuff, try eating low fat ice cream (in moderation), frozen blueberries sprinkled with SPLENDA, celery sticks, baked apple crisps, bananas with cinnamon, etc. You can eat healthy food but also have fun with it. Try making your own little meals and snacks that are healthy but are fun to make and also actually tastes decent. I know that plain spinach leaves taste awful so try mixing some stuff in it so that its yummy and tastes good. Dieting doesnt have to be all strict and boring, have fun with it.

Also, you need to exercise! I know as a young teen like you, that jogging for hours is no fun, so try speed walking around at the mall. You get to shop and exercise, just make sure that you dont end up drinking a Starbucks frap while your doing that. Instead, walk around with a large cup of iced water and sip on that while you walk and shop. Good luck!

Lots of vegetables and incorporate this plan into your daily routine:

Here’s all you need to lose weight and get healthy. First, you have to realize there is no quick, long lasting weight loss plan or pill that is going to do the trick. It’s purely mental. You have to learn to “Eat to live, don’t live to eat”. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? It is, if you understand that you are going to be reprogramming how you think about eating for the next few weeks. Old habits die hard, right? Not really. You get rid of bad habits by replacing them with good habits. If you learn to count your calories, keep calorie intake lower than output, exercise moderately, and eat only healthy food, you will lose weight. That’s a fact. All it takes is repetition. All success stories have this in common: The successful folks among us know how to be patient, persistent, and consistent. Set a goal and stick with it. The benefits of feeling good will outweigh any sense of sacrifice you might feel about having to push away that cake and ice cream. 2 liters of water a day. eat organic stuff. no red meat more than 3 times a week. do jumping jacks when you have time in your hands (like while watching tv or waiting for your computer to load).
The South Beach Diet is the healthiest and most effective diet that I have found.
"diet" can mean whatever it is that you eat, or it can mean "calorie reduction diet" or some regime like that. Thing is, correct diet is correct diet. There is no age that is too young to eat correctly. You have an exercise routine; that is good... that is how you reduce weight. Ramp it up as more energy becomes available. And eat the right foods.

Small meals but often. Vegetables(!), fruits, legumes, nuts, a little lean meat (fish)... limit refined foods, especially sugars. Don't eat junk fats or too much starch/bread/pasta. Stay hydrated. Variety is good. Good luck!
a light breakfast ex. half bagel w/ half cup of 100% juice
or a slim fast optima
snack before lunch ex. fruit or a low fat yogurt
for lunch you can drink another slim fast or have a simple salad
snack before dinner ex. fruit or any kind of low fat treat.
dinner by 7:00 p.m. (ex.) a weight watchers or healthy choice dinner so that you do not have to worry about measuring food.
you have to exercise and drink plenty of water.
don't "diet".when ppl say diet alot of them just eat tasteless food and then end up falling off the wagon..First figure how how many calories you need to lose weight..multiple your weight by X10 and then break up the total calories into 5-6 mini meals and get some physical exercise...even if it is just walking or biking...slow and steady wins the race so don't be hasty. There are alot of free online websites that let you track your calorific intake. I personally use fitday but there are others out there just do a search..don't buy into crash and yo yo dieting cause what is the point of crash dieting and then gaining it all back...Stay the course and allow your self you fav. foods in moderation...Eat plenty of protein as that will keep you full longer...
Also don't undereat cause you slow your metabolism further.

This is what I typically eat..I try to stick to a 1450 calorie plan

B- 1/2 dry oats, 1 cup of skim milk
S- 6 egg whites with 2 slices fat free American cheese OR 1 cup ff cottage cheese
L- 7 ounces of chicken with 8 ounces of steamed brocolli, apple
S- lite n' fit yogurt with lite cheese string or 1 ounce of almonds and lite cheese string Or soy chips
D- 7-8 ounces of salmon with 5 oz of string beans and 5 oz asparagus
S- sugar free pudding...

My meal plans looks like this with slight moderations but you get the idea.and I work out and have been successful with weight loss

Add in foods that you like, if you don't like steamed veggies then stir fry them with a bit of oil, add a baked sweet potato in but watch the portion size.remember don't go over your calorie allowance.
It is good to eat healthily anytime.

To really lose your weight for good. Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and exercise. They will increase your metabolism rate and burn fats.

I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.

Details such as meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog
