gadgets and gimmicks really aren't necessary and usually end up in the corner. The best approach to getting in shape is getting out of your house/apartment. Have her get outside and walk or if you live in an apartment then go up and down the stairs. Getting yourself a jumprope is another idea. It's cheap and won't take up as much room.
