I run, but I can't seem to lose the weight :(?

Question:
My goal for the summer was to lose a pant size (I am a 8 or 9) I am 5'10 and around 150 lbs. I was running around 5 or 6 miles a day, 4 days out of the week. But now, there's one month left of summer, and my jeans feel tighter!! Would the running have made my thighs bulk up? What can I do to lose a pant size, and rouhgly 5-10 pounds in this last month? (I have also been trying to eat healhtier, but that doesn't seem to get results either!)

Answers:
you are a perfect weight. you do not need to loose
i am 5'9" 160 lbs
take long walks and wide steps...running bulks your legs up and builds muscle
running makes you bulk up on muscle, not lose weight. Try going to the gym and using a crosstrainer or a stationary bike. They burn more calories and don't bulk you up.
yeah thats probably the problem your leg muscle started to tone up so it got bulkier but dont worry your body is getting used to it, keep running and you will see the difference. People will start telling you, you look better. Also try going to the gym and getting a trainer maybe they could help you out with some tips that you dont know about losing weight.
sounds like your muscles may have bulked up...try to fit in more cardio that will help to stretch your muscles out a bit..like piliattes or dance or yago even
after I started running my thighs looked more defined and my pants felt looser but I did not lose any weight...your weight is perfectly fine for your height actually i think you are quite skinny!! you dont need to lose any weight!
You need to make sure that you are burning more calories than you are taking in. Try writing down exactly what you are eating for a few days and see what kind of calories you are eating.

If you try www.sparkpeople.com you can track your food and exercise calories. If you just want to see calories in foods you can go to www.calorieking.com and search for foods there. Chances are you just aren't realizing how many calories you are eating and you aren't burning enough off.

Good luck!
running bulks up you thighs. muscle weighs more then fat. so thats might be why your not losing much weight. you are losing fat though. i donno
the more often you do cardio, the more your body becomes accustomed to it and it adjusts your body to use less energy. maybe you should cut down to 3 days a week with a day break between each. and change up your routine. EX. run one day then change to cycling the next cardio day.

and you could do some light weight training. it speeds up your metabolism!
Your muscleases expended that's why your pants are tighter.
Your scale may show more pounds but that is not bad. Becouse, your musclease are havier than fat.
With constant working out, with out giving your musclease time to repare your body comes in the 'plato stage' , where you not cing any changes.
Don't give up, be pateient, and give your self a time to relaxe your muslease.
good luck!
you're have the perfect weight but if you want to
try
build muscle. it'll take your extra fat.(fat that didn't get burn)
i don't exactly remember how.

drink lots of water, eat nuts and raisins to increase metabolism
workout.
eat healthy.
eat slowly, because it takes awhile for food to digest, so
it takes awhile to be full after eating.

eating slowly will allow you to know when you're full to eat less.

don't sit in front of the tv while eating.
also allow your body to tell you when you're hungry, when it growls, eat.

do aerobic exercises

do 2 30min exercises then have a 20 min break you'll lose more wight than not taking breaks at all
play music that you enjoy, or music that makes you feel like dancing to you'll exercise more/longer

you can run in one place for 15 min per day or more.
or run up and downstairs. or jog/run/walk around your block.

then slowly increase the time, by 5 min per day.
and if you're gonna do sit-ups, cutches, pull=ups, etc. add 10 per day

starving will get you skinnier but at the end of it when you eat normally again your body will be saving it,
and you'll gain weight faster
like bears saving their food for the winter.

all these have been proven true
