Everyone has skin.So why are thin people called "skinny"?

Question:
To me,so-called "skinny people" are just those without
an excess of stored fat and cellulite. So who came up with
the term "skinny"?What would you call them?

Answers:
Skinny means - resembling skin - in other words, they look like they are all skin - and no stored fat or cellulite, as you said.
Cause they're "skin and bones"
it's because below the skin is nothing.. just bones..

below fat people's skin there is fat
Shortened form of "skin and bones"
good question.
coz under the skin they got no fat... just skin and bones
I guess its because they are all "skin" and bone. Like wise "fatty" is cos they are predominantly fat.
idk it sounds good. who cares?? just call them thin
skinny is short for skin and bones
that's a good question u could call them bony but that would be the same thing as skinny cuz everyone has bones, i can't think of anything
Yes, everyone does have skin but maybe it is because they have a lot less skin than the larger people?!?!
it has no fat so it is mostly skin
By that reasoning you should also question why overweight people are called 'fat'. Everyone has fat also. Skinny is just a word that is used. I think skinny came from the term skin and bones. That is the word I use to describe people who are too thin.
They are all praises, and just to help a person to describe another person.
I.E. short, fat, thin, tall
They only have skin. No fat. hence, the name, skinny.
