The fact is everyone is vastly different and there is no simple answer to that. There are a few basics that you need to have. A low body fat percentage (judging by your weight and height, you actually need to gain some weight) you need to work the abs effectively and regularly, and you need time for your body to compensate. It's almost all in your diet when it comes to abs. To develope muscle your body needs a lot of proteins, more calories and less fat. Cut out the bad stuff and take in more healthy foods. I actually eat more than I ever did since I started lifting. It could take months, or even years for some people. Personally, it took me a solid year. I'm older than you and was already a body builder, but never worried much about my abs until recently. I was happy with a flat stomach. You're also a little young to start pushing for that type of goal. Your body might not be capable of producing the muscle mass needed for another year or two. Do some research on a proper diet (lots of proteins and little fat) and find an ab routine that works for you. There's a lot of them. Crunches DO work as do situps, leg lifts and several other basic workouts. It's all about finding the one that stimulates that muscle region the most for you. If you're serious and you have the type of genetic makeup that lends itself to muscular developement than it will eventually happen. Personally I wouldn't shoot for just having a six pack. Look toward overall muscular developement and health to a level that you're comfortable with. Not everyone needs or wants to be huge (I'm moderate and happy with it).
