Answers:
Phase One of SBD is the strictest phase of the SBD. You must eliminate all breads, pastas, starches (including potatoes), fruits, and most meats. The only meats you are allowed are lean meats, and as unprocessed as possible. It works because it helps to re-regulate your body's use of certain foods. Basically it rids your body of it's "need" for carbohydrates.

As you continue through the SBD and it's phases, you learn how to eat appropriately and as you start to incorporate foods back into your diet, you start learning which carbohydrates you personally should avoid or limit in your own diet.
I don't know the name of it but I know that you have to quit all breads, all starches all sugars and I believe certian meats. You have to each vegtables and non fatty meats I believe.
It works great, and the phases feel like heaven after it.
