Answers:
Chew your food longer, it takes the brain 20 minutes to kick in, to let you know your full.
diet pop always works for me
bananas
I eat an apple prior to a meal. It has fiber in it and will help to make you feel full faster.
peanuts
veggies and fruits
Try eating peanut butter toast for breakfast. You will find that it will keep you full all morning, as will other high-protein, high fiber foods. But make sure you ARE eating three meals a day, particularly breakfast.
No really water does work. Drink a lot of water suppressyor appetite. Because when your hunger your thrist. Try eating nuts or almonds. Try Blue Diamond All Natural Almonds.
Also get more fiber.
Consider this: having many small meals...like an apple...a cup of cereal...etc, spaced throughout your day will increase your metabolism better than suppressing it. That will assist in weight loss/maintenance better that relying on appetite suppressing foods alone.
20 walnuts with a glass of water. 8 almonds with a glass of water.
Even a banana with peanut butter on it will work.
Maybe even try some higher protein foods (like eggs).
This may sound odd but it works for me: a cup of coffee (not decaf)
Try cabbage soup. I eat it and it suppresses my appetite. Boil cabbage, along with a few bullion cubes, very easy to make. You can eat as much as you want because cabbage is a negative-calorie food, (which means it burns more calories to digest than the amount of calories contained in the food itself.)
Well I hate to say it but the popular things right now are hoodia and green tea although both may be a bit more of a scam than you can stomach.
Really what you should be doing is healthy snacking throughout the day so that you do not get hungry and instead you have low cal nutrients in your system all the time
I'm currently on a diet where I mostly consume Lipton Green Tea (regular, not diet - it's more filling) and various flavors of Progresso soup whenever I get hungry, which can be up to five times per day. This is a short term solution for me, and it's working. Along with 30 minutes of cardio exercise per day, I've lost 15 lbs. in 3 weeks.
Grains or high fiber foods. Things like whole grain cereal and bread, oatmeal, ect. Fattening foods, water foods, and diet drinks aren't really going to fill you up.
Low-carb diets really help control your appetite. If you don't want to be on a low-carb diet, try just increasing your protein intake to 1 gram per pound of body weight. Preferably, consume solid foods, not protein drinks. You can also try supplementing 'HOODIA" an appetite suppressant.
Note: Simple Carbs are known to increase your appetite (i.e. bananas and potatoes).
Chickpeas or Hummus made with chickpeas, also eggs.
In short, food with proteins, like meat, yogurt, eggs, fish.
I find that drinking water that has been kept in the fridge really helps me, and green tea. Apparently food cravings for junk food should only last 15 minutes so if you can get through that you should be ok.
an apple will work! anything that has lots of protein and fiber will help.
I've been lifting for years and usually after a workout I was starving and any food that came in my sight was soon devoured. But for the past 6 months I've kept a magic bullet blender in my gym locker. I drink a whey protein shake with strawberries immediately after my workout and it knocks my appetite out. But you have to wash it out everyday otherwise you get moldy growths. I've brought dishwashing liquid to the gym with me.
The reason I recommend the magic bullet blender is that it is easy to clean out plus sometimes the whey protein doesn't mix very well and you end up chewing it which discourages future use of it.
