well I stopped eating bread, chocolate, rice and i dropped 5 pounds.well i already stopped eating junk food and soft drinks, I do drink like 3 gallons of water and eat light yogurt, tuna salads, cereal, fish, chicken, fruit, and many vegetables. I only eat a small plate for each meal, i never get seconds or go back every time. I only eat my meals every 6 hrs and a snack every 3 hours. I am almost reaching my goal just by eating in moderation. good luck

lean turkey
lean chicken
tuna
Protein helps to build muscle.
Carbs:

potatoes
rice
Carbohydrates are fuel,they give you energy.
