Did any of you had a tummy tuck? is it worth it? pain full?

Answers:
I had a tummy tuck due to 3 surgery scars on my stomach that had "attached" themselves to my inner muscles, resulting in bellybutton looking places on my stomach. My insurance paid since it was caused by scar adhesions from previous surgeries.
I had 156 stiches from hip to hip, they cut away lots of skin, pulled my stomach skin down like a window shade and stiched that sucker up, with a bellybutton replacement.
It was not painful, yet knowing a few things before hand will certainly help you.
Have someone stay with you for about 3 days to give yourself time to "gradually regain upright" movement. You will tend to want to lean to give your stomach slack, you slowly learn to ease back into a full upright position. Do not and I repeat do not do anything house work wise for at least 4 weeks, then think twice and be very careful. The doctor will supply you with a girdle contraption, wear it, dont argue, just wear it. It helps your inards stay compressed and helps your new shape take hold. Have a pillow with you so when you sneeze or cough, you can brace your tummy. When you lay down on your bed, learn to roll carefully on your side, not just swing your feet up like you would normally do. That is very stressful on your tummy area.
Be very careful of the incision area, keep clean dry, after you have the staples pulled out(that hurt worse than surgery!) get some good cream for your incision, it will help fade it away.
Even though you will feel really fantastic, sexy and in great shape, be smart and moderate in your activities for several months, it takes the inside muscles longer to heal than you think. Dont strain! I would do it again in a heart beat. My stomach is still as flat as a pancake, it has been 11 years, even though I have gained some weight, it still is flat. Learn from me and keep the weight off, I just went nuts on carbs about 5 years ago and it is hard to get it off! Good luck
My friend's mom had one done although she said it went great with not alot of pain. She turned out lumpy in her stomach area because she had the extra skin. So I would say instead of getting surgery to lose weight just do simple things like walking instead of driving ect. and in a while you could have the body you've always wanted instead of a lumpy body
I had one back in 01. Anyone that tells you it is not painful, must have a very high tolerance for pain!! It would take me 30 minutes to get to the bathroom, then another 30 to finally be able to use it. I couldn't lay down flat for weeks. My scar goes from hip to hip.The swelling was terrible, had to wear this tight girdle style thing 24/7. The only time I could take it off was to wash it. It's been six years now and believe me, Although I'm nowhere as big as I was. The weight does come back! If I were you I would try walking with light weights, jump rope or even swimming. Don't jump into the tummy tuck until you've tried everything else. Hope this helps...
Tummy tuck surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
