Answers:
i don't think you would be foolish.
Just don't expect to be able to do all the old tricks you used to right away.
I am a woman in my early 40's who still Rollerblades and even does a little shredding myself on a board. I was not always in great shape after kids and I found that the skates and getting back on the board made it easy to lose the pounds. Go for it! Ignore the little skate punks, and fitness freaks who may assault you with jokes and unkind remarks and soon enough you will be skating circles around them.
When I got back on the Rollerblades I topped 300, now I am back to a much healthier weight, I look and feel 10 years younger too. you may want to have your heart checked out by a doctor first to see if it is strong enough, and start slow! the first few weeks are killer on the muscles but just take hot showers, use the muscle creams and don't give up!
i think its a great idea for you to start skating again! have fun! you only live once! :)
