Vibro-gym machines - how do they work and are they effective?

Question:
My gym recently installed a vibro-gym machine which has vibrating plates which you stand on and supposedly a 10 minute session is the equivalent to a full body work out in the gym.

Just wondering how these machines work and what they are supposed to do? Are they effective?

Answers:
At my gym we've got a power plate.

Its too early for me to say definitively...But if you do it right, you can feel the burn!! Its helping in toning up my stomach, but ive been using it 4 weeks, twice a week, plus working out for an hour mon-fri...and following a very careful diet.So it may help as part of a bigger plan, but not alone...

I think with things like that, if they worked, we'd know because it have been on tv or everyone would be walking round my gym looking like madonna!
they're crap, trust me, stick to ur current workout plan, those vibro thingys are rubbish! my gym instructor told me that too!
Dunno but I'm in the process of flogging all my other gear - air walker, thigh trainer, etc - to get one! I can't actually use my stuff now, even the air walker because my back problem has worsened. So, this thing looks like a good substitute since it's very low impact - and I'm a lazy git!
I came across this great product for weight loss and it was excellent for me. Together with a good diet and exercise I am finally happy with my body and the way I look. You should check this product at
http://www.get-slender.info , they have a free trial and you only pay 5.49$ shipping and handling. A must!
