Is this effective?

i want to go back to school (sept. 4) looking good and healthier. i weigh 135lbs and am 5' 4" and am 14 but i am pretty sure that a lot of my weight is muscle mass and i could lose some weight preferably 10 lbs but i really just want to look good. if i do an hour of cardio every day drink lots of water and only water and then eat healthier my mom told me about some chicken and rice diet where that is basically all you eat and since i am very picky and i only like chicken, rice, pasta anyway the only other food i like is junk i think this would be good for me do you?

Yes it shall. Do your running/cardio in the morning before you eat. That way you burn fat straight from taht fat source and loose weight and dont burn it from food you have alredy eaten during the day which is what happens when you do cardio after eating.
Weight is important but overall health should come first. Your on the right track, and that's actually not a bad diet, just watch the junk. The only place it sounds like you can lose weight is that muscle mass, so try to work your cardio so it's less of an effort, but the same amount.
yes, your diet sounds like it will work but its not the healthiest. you need fruits and vegetables, too. if not, take multi-vitamins. also, don't go overboard with the exercising bc you may lose weight too rapidly, which isnt good either.

ps~you are at a great weight for your age and height, so frankly i dont think you should even be on a diet. you are still young and you should have fun...yes, exercise and good eating habits are good but at 14 you should just be enjoying yourself & keepin up w/ school =]]
