8 Cups Of Water?

Question:
I've always heard that you should drink 8 cups of water a day, because it's healthy, etc. etc., but I've never known why. To keep you hydrated, I know, but what are the other reasons?

A lot of people who are asking about losing weight quickly get told to drink plenty of water and I want to know what water has to do with losing weight?

And finally, the reason I'm asking this...I drank a full 8 cups [ok quite honestly, more. After adding a flavor packet, water's pretty good!] of water today. And the only difference I've noticed is that I've had to take many more restroom breaks.

Well, besides hydrating your body, water cleanses your kidneys, promotes regular bowel movements, helps your immune system fight diseases, and overall, it makes your body feel great.
It is healthy do drink 8 cups a day!If you have to go to the restroom often it's okay.
its just healthyy
My aunt swears drinking a lot of water is the healthiest action to take. She claims it cleans out the toxins in the body.
If you are drinking 8 cups of water, you are less likely to be drinking soda and other beverages with calories in them.
Water curbs your appitite and if your weren't drinking water you'd probbly be drinking something else with calories...and calories add up in drinks.
It keeps you full, flushes out your body, and is good for you. I prob drink 16 cups a day.
You can workout longer if you're hydrated.
It's also good for your skin and everything.
yeah it's pretty much good for everything lol and it's also good for filling you up instead of eating junk food.
and it makes you feel alot better too

If you ask me drinking that much water just puts a lot of strain on your kidney and your body. When you eat salad, fruit, tea, coffee..they all have water inside of them so you stay hydrated. As for losing weight it just fills you and suppresses the appetite that's all. But all together drinking a lot water is not that healthy. 4-5 glasses and drinking it slowly seems healthier than gulping the whole glass down at once.
Besides just "cleaning out the toxins" and it "just being healthy" water is also chemically essential for your cells to operate. You are made up of mostly water and without it you would NOT be able to survive. That's why you can go longer without food than without water.
I drink a gallon a day usually. I add about 4 cups of green tea too. Drinking water is great for your body. As other people have already said, it detoxifies you, it makes you feel better and look better. Everything in your body needs water to function, so the more water, the better.
my grandmother told me this... your supposed to drink 4 water bottles a day.8 glasses of water. drink 4 glasses cold, it makes your metabolism work a little faster. drink 4 glasses warm...it opens your pores and makes your muscles relax and contract more..
It cleans you out, and i don't mean financially.
