I just recoverd from an open surgery on apendectomy? how long would i be able to do this?

its been 2 weeks since the open surgery on my appendicitis, so, how much longer would i be able to do sit ups and push ups, coz my abs is really turning in to flabs, and i lost a lot of weight already...maybe because my muscle weight turned to fat weight already... i really need help, i dont want an odd shape body before September... coz that would be the day my crush would arrive, and ive been doing situps for 3months now... btw, the doctor said, no gym, b.ball, strenuous sports for 3 months.. :)

It is dangerous to put strain on the surgical incision. Movement can cause wound dehiscence or re-opening. In appendectomies, the surgeon goes through your oblique muscles so it is weak. It may cause herniation of your intestines through the muscle defect. I suggest a good diet and some non-strenuous exercise like swimming. A slightly flabby ab is better than a surgical complication resulting from wound dehiscence... and healthier too.
your doctor told you...three months...if you engage in ab exercises before that time you will do permanent damage to the muscles involved in the surgery...sit-ups are not the best way to build abs...they put too much pressure on your low back
