Question about toothpaste?

Question:
I have a child who has a neurological disability and has problems with certain textures that wouldnt bother someone else. Toothpaste is a problem because of the texture and taste, but teeth need to be brushed...anyone have any ideas about other options? Please, no nasty answers, this may not seem like a problem to you but it is to us. Thanks!

Answers:
Try a chlorhexidine mouithwash. Dip the toothbrush in a capful and brush around the teeth 2x daily. You will kill the bacteria and have no decay. It is very effective. But it does have a strange taste, and a slight staining potential.
I use it as a mouthwash for my surgical patients, and used it to help keep my Dad's mouth clean after a stroke down his left side. It is also available as a gel.
Use a flavored flouride rinse.
