How do I use the syringe the doctor provided me at the extraction sockets?
Question:

Did the dentist not tell you what to do ? ...or did he give you the stuff and tell you to ask a bunch of idiots that you don't know ?
Sorry for being smart....Give me your Loritabs and I'll tell you what to do with the syringe....

I can only tell you what my dentist told me. A warm cup of water with salt added not too much but enough to taste, put the solution in the syringe and spray the saltwater onto the socket, slowly, so as not to disturbe the clot. And do that 3 times a day or more depending on how much I ate
Ok, I'm not a big fan of patients using the rinsing syringes. I've found that you could cause more damage than good; you could poke out your clot or something. I'd say 24 hours after the extractions are done, rinse GENTLY (no major swishing) with warm salt water. Yes, you'll get food caught in the sockets but if you do the rinsing you should be ok.
Good answer Justine. I only give out irrigating syringes if we are all done with dry socket treatment. Some surgeons give them out to ALL patients, but I don't happen to agree with that philosphy...
