Why do we get little white stains on our teeth?

Question:

Answers:
The white stains are from calcium found in drinking water. Calcium accumulates on your teeth and than you have the white stains. I recommend you drink 'softer' water (water with less calcium) and that you visit your dentist, he can remove the stains easily

Do we?

I get little white marks on my fingernails, but I believe that's to do with calcium intake.

bleaching? try this: http://www.lakshdeep.com/stains.htm the white ones aren't the stains, they're the clean spots. our teeth often get discoloures by coffe and tea though. do u drink alot of coffee? p.s. don't brush too vigorously in order to get rid of stains. it removes a protective layer from the teeth

It is to do with the amount of calcium we consume.

Drink more milk!!

if you had them for a long time they are normally a condition called hypoplastic enamel, where the enamel of the tooth did not mature enough

if it appeared over a recent time interval then they can be acid damage to the enamel

it can also be fluorosis if you are lving in an area with high fluoride content

I thought it was a lack of calcium not a build up of it. But I could be wrong of course.
