My mom is having a horrible pain in her jaw and no doctor has been able to help her, what is the problem?

Question:
She has had pain in her gums for the last few months, and some doctors thought it was an infection and gave her antibiotics. she was a little better, but nothing really changed and then 3 days ago, her pain intensified so badly that she went straight to the dentists crying, and they pulled out a teeth. and she was OK for the rest of that day, but then again, yesterday morning, the pain was back and she again went to the doctors and they thought it was probably a nerve problem within her gums, that night, she went to the hospital for an MRI, and they didnt give her one, but instead gave an inflamitory injection to her jaw, and it helped a little. she then found a new doctor, because the other ones were all going to their weekends, and he again gave her antibiotics because he says that he cant send her in for an MRI because it costs 2500 dollars and we dont have insurance. Does anyone here know what the problem is? has anyone had it before?

Answers:
I appreciate that you are trying to help your mom, but she has been seen by 3 doctors and had treatments and injections and they can't figure out what's wrong.

All you have told us is that she has a pain in her jaw. There is no way that people who have never seen your mom will be able to tell you what is wrong. It could be any one of a hundred different things and there is no point in speculating with so little information.

Sorry........
Are you in the U.S.A ? or U.K? if here u.k. go to a dentist not doctor,& likewise across the pond Dental problem not medical.
