Acute Maxillary Sinusitis?

Question:
do u have to have a cold/stuffy nose to have Acute Maxillary Sinusitis? I have a really bad toothache but i have a feeling this is not a dental problem.

Answers:
No. Cold is not necessary. However, if there is:
Three symptoms
1. maxillary toothache (upper teeth toothache)
2. poor response to decongestants
3. and history of coloured nasal discharge
and 2 signs
1. purulent nasal secretion
2. and abnormal transillumination
are the best clinical predictors of acute sinusitis. When fewer than 2 of the above signs or symptoms are present acute sinusitis can be ruled out. Antibiotic is likely to be helpful in most cases of acute maxillary sinusitis.

Other Answers:
It can cause headache toothache besides other sinusitis symptoms, although ive never experienced that aspect of it.
