denture relining material?

They sell denture reline kits in the drug store. Everything you need is in the box, except the experience to know how to do it right. It would be nice to have the right equipment, also, instead of just your pocket knife and sandpaper.
If you are hell-bent on doing this yourself, I'd suggest you buy a box. Mix it up and play with it without putting it in your denture at all. See what it feels like when you mix it, how long it takes to harden, etc. Mostly, see if it looks like it will be enough to do the whole job.
If you still want to proceed, go buy two more boxes, because there is probably not enough in just one. Mix both boxes and follow the directions. If they don't already tell you this in the directions, COVER the outer surface of your denture with Vaseline or (better) baby oil to keep the stuff from sticking where you don't want it to. I never figured out how people at home could trim and adequately polish their reline jobs. Hopefully you are a "crafty" person with polishing experience.
You can use lots of things but they won't be healthy. Your best bet is to go to the dentist and have them reline it.
