Don't worry about it; the anesthetic injection is the only thing you'll feel, and even that is dulled by the topical anesthetic gel that dentists put on your gums. If your dentist's office is plumbed for nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") I highly recommend it. It really helps with the anxiety. about an hour...once you get the novocaine you won't feel a thing...they really aren't as bad as people say they are
