Statistical question: Dental Practices?
Question:
W/two hygenists?
Answers:
We have one hygientist in my practice and she sees one adult patient every hour. She does not see new adult patients however. If she is seeing a new child it is scheduled on the hour, an existing child is scheduled every 30 minutes. So depending on if she is seeing all adults or some kids mixed in it could be 8 or more patients. Our practice usually aims for at least 100 new patients a month. The doctor sees between 15-25 patients a day.
Other Answers:
This depends on many factors such as:
How many days a week does the hygienist work?
How long does he/she take with each patient?
How many patients in the practice have dentures?
How many are children?
How many patients need to be seen more than twice a year?
The answer can range anywhere from 200 patients to 1000 patients in a one-hygienist office.
Unless you provide more details, it is impossible to answer accurately.
I can't cite this anywhere, but in the back of my head, I seem to recall the "average" figure - please take it as VERY average - is about 800-1,000 patients for a solo practicioner with no hygienist and an additional 800-1,000 per full-time hygienist. Plus or minus.
