I got thick spacers in my mouth and they have been bothering me a lot. What can I use to relieve the pain?

Aspirin or some similar over the counter pain medication is whats usually recommended, and is most likely what your dr is gonna tell you to take anyway. Other than that, dont expect better relief than what the pain medication can provide - the spacers are uncomfortable because theyre doing their job. Personally I think the spacers were the worst part of getting braces, followed by the pallet expander, which is HORRIBLE in terms of eating (food WILL get stuck up there and can be difficult to remove, I highly recommend using a waterpik) and talking (you will probably sound like a retard, I know I did) but in terms of pain the expander isnt really all that bad. Oh yea and have fun wearing elastics later in your treatment, they are nearly as bad as the spacers...

Ask your dentist/orthodontist to order a product called "Rincinol," for you. It is designed to help with the pain. At best, try tylenol, or motrin also if it's excruciating.
