i just bascly want the gap closing up... ive also got 2 crowns on my front teeth (due to accident after beer :/) would i be a suitable canidate for this method?

also would like to hear about NHS prices for this type of work in the UK and how long it would take.

cheers

Answers:
If you only have a central gap as shown in your picture, then it would be quicker, easier, and cheaper to have the crowns replaced with slightly wider ones. You would end up with a stable result too, which would not be so likely with braces.
The downside will be that your teeth wil be wider (as in your picture). A dentist can give you a quick temporary mock-up with composite to help you decide.
Have a consultation with a dentist.
Hi, I've been looking at the same thing. I know exactly what you mean about the braces on the back. If you want a gap closing up train tracks are the right method for this ...however it doesn't come cheaply. I believe that after a certain age you have to pay for orthadontic treatment such as this. I was quoted between £2000 and £10, 000 for total treatment, including all consultations, tooth removal etc. It's not cheap at all! You can also have clear train tracks put on the front of your teeth which may work out cheaper.

The length of time depends on your body really. There is the initial stage with train tracks which in my experience lasts about 2 years then there is a retainer stage of about 6-12 months to ensure that the teeth don't slide back to where they were.

I hope this has helped but I would advise going to your dentist who would know your eligability and put you on to a good orthadontist!
Hi There
I am 26 and i wear the braces that match the colour of your teeth. I had them about a month and some people that are still seeing me on daily bases didn't notice them. I believe the braces you are talking about are much more uncomortable and I am happy to reccomend the treatment I am having. If you want to talk to people with braces and have suggestions I reccomend this website www.archwired.com
