What do you think of the latest NHS dental charges, I think they are a rip of?

Me too! I was at dentist last week (my 6 month check-up) and had to have a tiny filling. £42.40!!! Wot the hell is that all about?
I know I havent had any treatments for a couple of years and usually only paid about £10 for check-up and polish.
Asked about two crowns and was given price of £200 !!

Absolutely, I need a false tooth and they told me it would be in the thousands for an implant. THOUSANDS? for a little plastic tooth and 30 minutes work. Shocking.

Well, I reckon that with the amount of new treatments and drugs, more highly qualified practitioners and more complicated operations available, not just in dental but the whole NHS, we should expect to pay a small amount toward each treatment.

Yes they are for those of us that have to pay, but what else can you expect from this government. Someone has to pay for the freeloaders haven't they.

there are only 4 NHS treatment costs
1- routiene checks x rays and clean £15.50
2- simple fillings root fillings £ 42.50
3- lab work-crowns bridges and dentures £189
4- emergancey treatment- £15.50

any one paying anything else is paying PRIVATE.
You CANT get implants on the NHS.
ALSO HOW MUCH MONEY HAVE YOU SPENT WRECKING YOUR TEETH.? ASK THAT BEFORE YOU QUESTION YOU BILL AND YOUR DENTIST.
if i wasn't maternity exempt,i would agree with you - but i am still waiting to see a regular NHS dentist, there are none available in my area!!
