At what age do kids get braces?

Question:
My son is 10 years old. He has an overbite, and his top front teeth are crooked. When should he get braces?

Answers:
He should get his braces after all his baby teeth fallen out and his permanent teeth have grown in because if you do it before his teeth may change as he looses and gains teeth and screw up his teeth again an need braces twice.
12
It's ok to get him braces now. All of his adult teeth are probably in. Check with the dentist to make sure.
it depends on your mouth but usally when your 12 year old molars are errupte through is when an orthodontist usally like to start making plans for braces.
from age 11 they can start getting braces
after 12-13 u must cosult a dentist after falling his milk teeth
12 is "old school". My orthodontist recommends starting braces while he still has baby teeth - as young as 8 for some conditions - get a consultation now and see what your orthodontist says.
wait untill all his teeth become permanent. wait when he turns 12-13.
You can actually start a lot earlier. I had mine at age 8. It entirely depends on the rate at which the adult teeth come in and if the orthodontist wants to do a two-phase program or not. Check with your orthodontist to see when he thinks your son should get braces.
Generally between the ages of 10 and 12 is the norm. after they have lost all of their first teeth and the permanant ones are in place, the earlier the better.
It varies on the number of adult teeth that are out and a number of other factors. You can get braces in 6-7th grade, but most people wait for another couple of years.
I got braces in the 3rd grade around 10 years old. I think you should do it now before it gets worst.
my 7 year old daughter is in the process now. she has an underbite and crossbite. roof of mouth is too narrow and has to be spread, then she'll get braces. it's never too early to check with an orthodontist when you see that problems are arising.
He needs to go to an orthodontist now. My daughter had a very small arch and a crossbite to correct before the braces. Every child and treatment are different. There are usually more problems in the mouth than crooked teeth. Good luck.
The family dentist would be the best one to advise on this. When my son turned 8, the dentist did one of those whole mouth xrays & referred us to an orthodontist because he can see the teeth that haven't come in yet will not have enough room. The othodontist did a free evaluation & made some recommendations that will give my son more room for his teeth when they do come in. Hopefully, this early intervention will save us from a lengthier (& costlier) process down the road.
the minimum age is 6. i was surprised but when i taught 1st grade i had a student with braces.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children be seen by an orthodontist at age 7.
Wait until he has all of his adult teeth. The second molars should come out between the ages of 11 and 13.
