Can someone translate this for me about my retainer?

Question:
Can someone translate this for me about my retainer?
I had my braces on for 3 years. I had them taken off, and one of the things my orthodontist told me was "You've had them on so long, your teeth are set, they aren't going anywhere. Wear the retainer though....." And she told me to wear them for a little while before i wear them just at night. And she said it depends on how long I progress with wearing them.

I just got my top one and it's making me talk funny. Now let me elaborate....I am VERY conscientious about my teeth and whether or not they will move. I finally have a normal smile after years of not......

I also checked in with my ortho today( not the assistant) and she didn't say anything about how often I should wear it, she just put them on (granted she was busy).......

Is this translating to, just wear it at night?

Answers:
Just wear it at night. You should be fine. You will get to a point as well when you won't even feel like doing that anymore. Your teeth may shift around a bit, but that is just a part of aging anyway--braces or no braces.
yes I think so.. she may of been just checking to see that it was still fitting well and that is why she put it in.....
