What Burned the upper part of my lip during a crown and vennier procedure?

Question: I went in for 3 crowns and 3 venniers. When I left the office the top inside of my lip was extermely swolen. For the next 2 days it got worse. My entire face swole up to my eyes. I looked like an extra on planet of the apes. When I lifted up my top lip it was black all the way to my gums and I could see indentions of my teeth in the flesh. What happened? Was it a chemical burn?
