Anyone else have veneers?

I had my 4 front teeth done about 3 years ago. They seem ok, but you hear so many things...They are supposed to last at least 20 years and mine look great so I am happy. Just wanted to see what other peoples experiences have been. Thanks

Veneers are a great restoration. With regular check-ups you shouldn't have any problems, it one does come off it usually can be put right back on. I have never had any problems love them.

They do look great. My husband had the same 4 done over 15 years ago but has had to replace one of his front teeth twice because they cracked. Just be very careful and don't bite down on things like pencils and other items. They become weak.

I have six veneers on my upper anterior teeth. They look and feel perfect. The dentist I worked for at the time convinced me I had to have perfect, straight teeth if I was going to work there. They were done at no charge to me.

Although I am pleased with the look, I now know that distubing healthy teeth is probably not the best care possible. Removing tooth structure is always risky and periodontal involvement is also a potential problem.

If I had it to do over again, I'd probably opt for Invisalign and move a few teeth instead.

Five years ago, cosmetic dentistry was all the rage (even though it is not a recognized discipline by the ADA), and every dentist claimed to be a "cosmetic dentist." Hopefully, the profession is taking a closer look at vanity procedures and using a more conservative approach.
