Lumineers?

Don't be sold on all of the advertising that you see and here about Lumineers! Many people have their reservations about these type of Veneers! They are advertised as being egg shell thin and that the teeth underneath them do not need to be ground down! That is not entirely true, in most cases your teeth will need to be cut down, especially if your teeth are crooked, chipped or stained. Try to imagine a paper thin piece of translucent porcelain fixing all of these problems, and not looking to bulky in the process (like big Chicklets). Also, to truely get the most life out of your restorations, they need to be durable. Any porcelain that is made too thin is destined for fracture somewhere down the line. My advice to you is see your dentist and have them recommend to you what the best types of veneers to do on your teeth. Don't be fooled by these name brands with their big advertising dollars. And YES, they are expensive! If you are still sold on Lumineers, I believe that they have an 800 # and a website where they will direct you to the closest "Lumineer Dentist". If you need any more information or a consult let me know, I am located in Long Island, NY!
