The key to brushing is to brush longer not stronger. It doesn't take much pressure to remove plaque from teeth, it does take time. Plaque is a sticky substance, so you need to brush over it several times to disrupt it, but your don't need a lot of pressure.
I would recommend using Act Fluoride rinse, as this is a low dose fluoride that you can rinse with everyday. See if your dentist will prescribe you a Rx strength toothpaste that has a higher concentration of fluoride. This will help also.
Heredity does play a part in the makeup of your teeth. Some people are cursed, but others have broken the cycle of losing teeth. Try chewing Xylitol gum or mints. This sweetener is proven to help reduce the bacteria that causes decay. It is not fluoride and is all natural, so there are no worries. Soon to be new mothers are even being recommended to start chewing this gum before they give birth because it decreases the bacteria and reduces the chance of transferring the bacteria to their children! You need to chew the gum (Carefresh, Trident, as long as it is one of the first 3 ingredients) for at least 5 minutes, 3 times a day for a few weeks before the sweeteners effects will happen. Then you should continue, since it is tasty gum it isn't a hard habit to keep!
Good Luck and remember to see your dentist and hygienist regularly to help keep your teeth in good shape!

We Had the same problem, We all have false teeth at the ripe old age of 30 It's genetic, I also take excellent care of my teeth, go to the dentist 2x a year and I still have lost a fews teeth and have had 6 root canals. It's sucks because I only get so much dental insurance allowance per year.
dont use tartar control toothpaste! my dentist advised me that these toothpastes actually break down the enamel! other than that, sorry no advice!!
Never heard of that. Go to the dentist every 6 months to a yr. Keep brushing! and flossing!
Tootsieroller: Actually, it is extremely rare for people to have "soft teeth." i have been a dentist for over 25 years, and have seen very few cases that qualified as "soft teeth." Most people that claim to have soft teeth actually have very poor hygiene and a high caries (decay) index. Realize also that most teeth are not lost because of tooth decay, but because of periodontal (gum) disease, which again, has nothing to do with soft teeth. Brushing 3 times a day is good. Most any fluoride toothpaste is fine (look for ADA seal). Floss at least once a day. Most cavities and gum disease are related to poor hygiene-period!
