Oral Surgey!?
Question:
It's not that I'm afraid of, it's the needle they give me to numb my arm or something so they can give me an I.V. then put something to sadate me through the I.V.
I'm deathly scared of needles, but not getting things pierced. I know I hate shots, but it's been a while since I had one.
Do you think I'll cry getting the shot they give me before the I.V.?
If anyone has had oral sugery can you please tell me your story?
And, if I remove the baby tooth myself will this change the whole sugery thing?
Thanks. =)
Answers:
I had my wisdom teeth out in late July. I hate needles. I was so scared sitting in that chair and having the nurse wrap that band around my arm, I was bout to cry. She was very nice and told me it would be quick and painless. The doc came in and I turned my head. He stuck the needle in. It was sharp and it pinched, but a LOT less then getting something peirced. I looked at him and called him a bad man, jokingly. Then I said "Oh, this stuff really works fast"...Then I was waking up in the recovery room....And its a lot easier to let them do it, then pulling it yourself.
Oral Surgery is a breeze, they give you medicine, talk to you, you go out, wake up and ask when are they going to do it and then you feel the gauze in your mouth, you are done! Just keep bags of frozen peas to alternate in and out of the freezer to keep the swelling down. Don't worry, it will be over before you know it!
